The follow-up to 2009' to Forever Abomination by Skeletonwitch - a new album release date: October 11, 2011 New Releases Now. Skeletonwitch has been called every name in the fucking book: death metal, black metal, thrash metal, speed metal, heavy metal, epic viking blackened thrash 'n' roll, and so on. It seems the only description everyone can agree on is 'metal,'' says guitarist Scott Hedrick, 'and that suits us just fine. Their latest slab of savage, molten metal, Forever Abomination is a testament to their refined craft, honed through years of hard work and relentless touring. We live and breathe this shit' exclaims Hedrick. On its fourth album, Forever Abomination, the Athens, Ohio band freely mashes styles, pulling together the choicest bits of black and thrash metal to create the most intense sound possible. This blend of driving riffage and suffocating relentlessness allows the band to strike a fine balance between freewheeling guitar worship and oppressive gloom. Skeletonwitch - Forever Abomination review: An album that fuses thrash, melo-death, with certain blackened elements. It manages to showcase catchy melody without sounding too cheesy. However, boring and cheesy have two different meanings. Review Summary: An album that fuses thrash, melo-death, with certain blackened elements. Is there such a thing as the right musical moment executed at the right time, and seemingly, effortlessly With Skeletonwitch, apparently there is, to a certain degree. One album that Forever Abomination relates very closely to is The Epigenesis by the Israeli black metallers Melechesh. The vocals are really good for black metal, but they wont really work for anything else if the vocalist tried using his vocals in a different kind of metal band. The drums have a really thick sound that has a lot of bass in the kickdrums, but sounds fairly mediocre concerning the rest of the set
