Формируйте собственную коллекцию записей. Rust Never Sleeps, its aphoristic title drawn from an intended advertising slogan, was an album of new songs, some of them recorded on Neil Young's 1978 concert tour. His strongest collection since Tonight's the Night, its obvious antecedent was Bob Dylan's Bringing It All Back Home, and, as Dylan did, Young divided his record into acoustic and electric sides while filling his songs with wildly imaginative imagery. Never one to follow protocol, Neil's 1979 album featured new songs recorded live during his '78 tour with Crazy Horse. The now legendary record with a title inspired by Devo and a sound invigorated by the punk movement, was originally split into separate acoustic and electric sides, and possibly best exemplifies two very different sides of Young. Includes Thrasher Powderfinger Hey Hey, My My into the Black , and more. Neil Youngs 1979 album, made famous for the single Hey Hey, My My Into the Black and Kurt Cobains allusion to its lyrics in his suicide note 15 years later. It was mostly recorded live but contains studio overdubs on most of its tracks Sail Away and Pocahontas were recorded completely in studio. Its first half is comprised of acoustic songs and the second of electric songs, with the album bookended by versions of the same song, Hey Hey, My My. The phrase, Rust Never Sleeps comes from an old Rust-Oleum ad slogan crafted by the band Devo. Young learned of the slogan when making a film with the band, and he loved it so much that he adopted it as his own. Life is an album by Canadian, American musician Neil Young and his backing band Crazy Horse, and it is Young's last release on the Geffen label. As with their 1979 album Rust Never Sleeps, Young and the Horse performed most of this album's songs live with the exceptions of Cryin' Eyes and We Never Danced which were recorded in studio. The album was released on July 6, 1987. Neil Young & Crazy Horse album bestography. Higher ranked This album 385th Lower ranked 1,036th -Rust Never SleepsZuma. Upcoming concerts. Granger Smith Ft. Rock 1979. Rust Never Sleeps, San Franciscans bore witness to a beloved Woodstock alumnus bidding farewell to his formative era and embracing the zeitgeist of the late 70s. The album proved his longevity and scope of imagination. It oscillates between intimate and tinnitus-inducing, between poetic and comical. It starts and ends with the lyrics, My, my, hey, hey Rock and roll is here to stay, and above all else, Young gives a compelling testimony to that fact. Of course, Young didnt coin the phrase Rock and roll is here to stay
