Album
Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions also known as simply Carnival of Souls is the seventeenth studio album by American rock band Kiss, released in 1997. It is the band's final album with lead guitarist Bruce Kulick, as well as their last album with drummer Eric Singer until 2009's Sonic Boom. The album is a departure from the band's classic hard rock style, in favor of a dark and dense grunge-oriented sound. It is also the band's last album of their unmasking era. This is my review of KISS' nearly unreleased album, 1997's Carnival of Souls. In 1998, that album was finally released under the name Carnival Of Souls: The Final Sessions. However, much like the Farewell Tour didnt really bid farewell to anybody, neither would these Final Sessions mark the end of anything, except maybe of KISSs unmade-up phase. But I digress. What does the album sound like, you ask. Product description. Kiss Carnival Of Souls: Final Sessions. Shortly before Kiss embarked on its nostalgic, highly profitable reunion tour of 1996, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley seemed to be planning a more contemporary route to world domination. Their album Carnival of Souls was recorded in 1995, prior to original Kissmen Ace Frehley's and Peter Criss's reentry into the band, and it sounds more like Seattle revisited than Detroit Rock City. Carnival of Souls: The Final Sessions is Kiss' 17th studio album, and last produced before the reunion of the original Kiss members. Recorded and slated for release in 1995early 1996, Kiss cancelled its release when they embarked on the reunion tour. However, fans located and circulated bootleg copies in fairly large numbers. Kiss finally released the album in 1997. The last track, I Walk Alone, was the only lead vocal performance on a Kiss album by guitarist Bruce Kulick
