The Ansonia Years' gathers the best recordings that Rafael Cortijo, one of the major Puerto Rican figures in Latin music, made for Ansonia Records in the years 1969-1971. Noche de Temporal and Volumen 2 emphasize the dialogue between Puerto Rican and Cuban styles, with the outstanding participation of the Cuban musician Javier Vazquez, first known as the pianist for La Sonora Matancera, and then as one of the leading arrangers for the salsa produced in New York in the '70s. Cortijo recorded two more LPs between 1969 and 1971, Noche de Temporal and Volumen 2 all three were released on the Ansonia label. A song included in the SAOCO compilation CORTIJO, The Ansonia Years 1969 - 71 to be released on Vampisoul. Una Noche is the first live album by the Puerto Rican rock band La Secta AllStar. It was released independently in 2002 and features the Puerto Rican reggae band Cultura Profética on the song Vino Viejo
